About MetroMFT MetroMFT, a nonprofit 501(c)6, is an organization working for the interests of marriage and family therapists in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Delaware, and Virginia. MetroMFT provides support and education about the practice of marriage and family therapy, promotes the profession of marriage and family therapy, and monitors legislation that directly affects the practice of marriage and family therapy. We support licensed MFTs, provisionally licensed MFTs and students working towards becoming MFTs. |
Representation MetroMFT providers representation and engagement with National organizations including AAMFT and COAST, as well as, our local state licensing Boards. | Advocacy MetroMFT activity engages in legislative advocacy for the practice and profession of marriage and family therapy. We attend legislative hearing, communicate with State officials, and support State officials in passing legislation. We work to propose new legislation to promote the profession including current license portability efforts. | Professional Development MetroMFT supports our member's professional development by hosting various training and CEU events, including our Annual Conference and Lunch & Learn Series. |
Networking MetroMFT facilitates programming throughout the year for our members to engage in networking, mentorship and social engagement to get know other local MFTs, to knowledge share, to develop referral options, to discover supervision opportunities, etc. | Professional Support MetroMFT works to provide professional support to our members by maintaining our website for easy access for up to date information, facilitating a Facebook presence for our members to connect, promote, ISO and advertise, and connecting our membership to important updates via our Quarterly Newsletter.
