Maryland Legislative Advocacy Day

  • Tuesday, February 18, 2020
  • 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 6 Bladen Street, Annapolis Maryland

Registration is closed

Join Metro MFT in Annapolis to advocate for the profession and practice of marriage and family therapy. Each year we come together as a community to educate our legislators about how valuable our unique training is in helping better the community around us. In previous years we have been successful in coming together to communicate the importance of keeping 3 seats for MFTs on the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists of Maryland and educating other MFTs about the important issues impacting our practice as mental health professionals throughout the state.

The day will start at 8:00am and will end around 1:00pm. Parking in downtown Annapolis is limited so we recommend carpooling with friends/colleagues and trying to park at the one of the near by garages (Whitmore, Gott's Court, Noah Hillman Parking Garage) and walking a few blocks to our meeting spot. Another - more time consuming option - is parking at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium ($5 fee) and taking the ($2) shuttle to our meeting point in front of the Lowe House Office Building, which is adjacent to the James Senate Office Building.

Once you arrive and go through security, you will be given a folder with talking points and a detailed itinerary of our scheduled meetings with legislators. The full address is: Lowe House Office Building, 6 Bladen Street, Building 14, Annapolis, Maryland.
